From football legend to Spanish winemaker
Andrés Iniesta is remembered around the world for his vision, calmness and unforgettable moments on the pitch. Away from football, the Iniesta family has also built a respected wine project in Fuentealbilla, Iniesta’s home village in the province of Albacete.
The family’s winemaking story began in the 1990s, when José Antonio Iniesta planted the first vineyards. Over the years, the project grew into Bodega Iniesta, a winery closely connected to the land, the family and the wine culture of Castilla-La Mancha.
What makes Bodega Iniesta wines special?
Bodega Iniesta produces approachable Spanish wines with plenty of personality. Its vineyards include local grape varieties such as Bobal and Macabeo as well as internationally known grapes including Tempranillo, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
One of the winery’s best-known ranges is Corazón Loco – “Crazy Heart” in English. The name is a playful reference to the Iniesta name: the Spanish word corazón contains “Ini” in the middle, while loco reflects the passion behind the project. The range includes red, white and rosé wines designed to be enjoyed without making wine feel complicated.
